There is a new website about Jesus Christ that is a part of lds.org. You can find the new website here:
The content is amazing, and gives a very good representation of how we feel about Christ, and His love for us. Topics include “Who is Jesus Christ?”, “Come Unto Christ”, and “Faith in Jesus Christ”, among many others. There are many scripture references, and multimedia to help explain the story of Jesus Christ, as well as the purpose of his life and death here on earth.
I highly recommend visiting this site for everyone that has a Christian faith, and for those who are still searching for a faith.
Jesus Christ taught us to pray to “our Father, which art in heaven.” We also know, through the book of Genesis, that we were created in God’s own image. Much as a son or daughter resembles their parents on earth, we resemble our God in Heaven. He is literally the father of our spirit, and we are like Him.
This has some very important meaning in our daily lives. If we are like Him, then we are capable of all that He is. That is to say, with the help of Jesus Christ, we can return to live with God, our Father, and in the eternities, become like Him.
To me this is a simple thing. Every good father on earth wants their child to grow up and become like them in all the good things they do. Our Father in heaven, being perfect, wants us to have everything He has, and be all that He is. He wants that because he loves us as a father loves a child.
So what does it mean when we say “Dear Heavenly Father” in a prayer, or “our Father, which art in heaven?” It really is an affirmation that we are in fact children of God. I can’t think of anything greater to know than one’s own heritage and capacity.
