What is General Conference?

Twice a year, the LDS church holds what they call a “General Conference,” a meeting that involves all of the membership of the church from around the world. Rather than tell you all of the various things that they talk about in General Conference, I invite you to check out the list of speakers and their subjects from the last general conference, in April of 2012

General Conference is Open to All

Anyone can watch the October 2012 General Conference online. Just check the schedule below, and then visit http://conference.lds.org on the day of the conference to watch live! If you miss it, you can always browse the same link to view the conference recordings after the conference is done.

Schedule for October 2012 General Conference

Conference happens over the first weekend in October, and over several “sessions.” Below is the schedule for the October 2012 Mormon General Conference sessions:


Saturday, October 6th

Morning Session: 9:00am – 11:00am

Afternoon Session: 1:00pm – 3:00pm

Sunday, October 7th

Morning Session: 9:00am – 11:00am

Afternoon Session: 1:00pm – 3:00pm

If you are curious about “the Mormons” and what we believe, there is no better time to find out for yourself than the October 2012 General Conference. It is open to all. You can watch online, or via cable or satellite TV is most areas. Watch, and if you have questions, please feel free to post them here!
